Zimmer- Hands-on Workshop

Zimmer Trauma provides a full portfolio of innovative solutions for orthopaedic trauma.   Zimmer Trauma is known for being the first company to introduce pre-contoured periarticular plates.  Over the past few years Zimmer Trauma has also introduced a new line of polyaxial locking plates, the NCB (Non-Contact Bridging) Plating System, which provides surgeons with the opportunity to change screw positions prior to locking.  The NCB Plating System has recently been expanded to include new plates and screws specifically designed for periprosthetic fractures, offering surgeons the greatest number of options to overcome these clinical challenges.  In addition to its plate line Zimmer Trauma continues to strengthen its IM nail portfolio with the Zimmer Natural Nail System.  The Zimmer Natural Nail System now offers easy-to-use nails for Cephalomedullary, Antegrade Femur, Retrograde Femur and Tibia fractures on a common platform of intuitive instrumentation.   The newest innovative addition to the Zimmer Trauma portfolio is Zimmer MotionLoc Technology, a patented screw design that reduces the stiffness of locked plating constructs and provides micromotion at the fracture site.  Please stop by the Zimmer Trauma booth and/or our website to learn more.   www.zimmer.com.

Wounded in Action

While in Chicago be sure to visit Wounded in Action: An Art Exhibition of Orthopaedic Advancements.  The exhibit will be on display at the Chicago Cultural Center, a short walking distance from the course hotel.

In a tribute to the heroes who have served their countries in wars throughout the world, this exhibition features art celebrating the strength and spirit of injured troops, wounded civilians, and their families, as well as the commitment of the orthopaedic surgeons who assist them on their journey to recovery.
Wounded in Action includes original works of art showing a different side of war — war-related loss of limbs and other musculoskeletal wounds — and the increasingly pivotal role orthopaedic surgeons play in the lives of war-related injury patients. Artists include military personnel who live with orthopaedic injuries, family members who helped them through their recovery process, and orthopaedic surgeons who treat wounded military and civilians.

Here is a sample of the artwork on display.  This is a very nice exhibit of work by your colleagues.  Not to be missed!
